A practical release checklist for books and music
A short checklist for preparing files, rights, metadata, and release timing before distribution.
Before a release goes live, the most useful question is simple: what could block this from being accepted, discovered, credited, or corrected later?
For ebooks and print titles, check file format, cover dimensions, ISBN details, imprint, contributor names, description, categories, price, territories, and preview text.
For music, check audio files, cover art, artist names, contributor credits, ISRCs, release date, explicit-content status, rights ownership, territories, and platform-specific requirements.
A release checklist does not need to be complicated. It needs to be used before the upload, not after the first rejection.
